Spring Equinox: Tips and Rituals.

Here are some simple things you can do to celebrate the spring equinox. Now is a good time to nurture new ideas or to set some intentions.

What is an equinox?
Earth’s season.

The spring equinox marks the point in time when the sun sits directly over the Earth’s equator. Both hemispheres equally share the sun’s rays at the equinox, and night and day are almost the same length.

This happens twice a year, in spring and autumn, when the Earth’s axis reaches a neutral middle point.

The spring equinox is a celebration of fertility, abundance, rebirth, and awakening.

symbols of spring.

The hare is a symbol of immortality. It is also a major symbol of fertility and abundance, as the hare can conceive while pregnant. Over time, the symbol of the hare has become the Easter Bunny. The egg is also an important symbol, associated with creation and new life.

This is a simple ritual you can do to set your intentions or work towards a goal.

Any seeds will do, but you could choose seeds that correspond with your intention or goal. For example-

Bergamot: Good for luck, money, and prosperity.

Calendula/Marigold: Attracts success. It increases psychic and spiritual powers and dispels negativity

Holly Hock: Use for abundance and personal growth.

Parsley increases strength and passion.  Parsley is extremely uplifting and helps with spiritual growth.

These are just a few but do your research. I recommend reading the following books:.

  • seed trays or small pots.
  • water
The ritual.

Hold your seeds in your hand and think about what you want to bring into your life or achieve. If you wish, you could write down your intentions on a small piece of paper and place it in your soil.

Plant each of your seeds by pressing them gently into the soil, and at the same time, think about how you can achieve what you want to bring in.

Make sure your seeds are covered with soil

Remember to water well and often. As your seeds grow, so can your attention and goals.
